This charming Craftsman Home, circa 1900s, is a welcome rental haven for out-of-town visitors or festive gatherings.  Owner Sandra Wileman wanted the decor to preserve the integrity of its historic design.  Mike Robinson worked closely with Sandra and her decorator to find the perfect carpeting.  Mike researched and provided about 35 samples of carpet.  Sandra and her decorator decided on one brand, Milliken, but also selected several different prints of floral carpet.  The different prints provided for individuality and the Miliken brand provided for continuity. 

The carpet installation for the stairway, landing, and hallway required special attention as it needed to be centered with 6” of wood flooring on either side of the carpet.  Mike Hurst, our craftsman-like installer was the man for the job.  The carpet itself was cut in place, then seamed together so that patterns matched.  No easy task with a floral carpeting design!  Next the carpet was rolled up and transferred to our workshop to be bound with color coordinated binding tape.  Then it was returned to the home for final installation.

The Clover House / Exeter, California

Prior to this project, Mike Robinson had done some work for me in an older home and he did a great job.  I love that when Mike said he was going to be there at 8 a.m., he was there at 8 a.m.  The staff was very professional and did a clean job.  They were friendly and prompt as well.  One of the installers, Mike Hurst, had a difficult job to do with respect to the stairway.  He did a lot of finagling to make it work and it turned out great.  Although we used a decorator, Mike Robinson was instrumental in hunting down a line of floral carpeting that had the old-fashioned look that went with the home.  We love the way it all came together!
